Amroha is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Jyotiba Phule Nagar district. People of Amroha voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 2,92,311 registered voters for Amroha assembly seat, out of which 1,55,373 were male and 1,36,938 were female voters. 0.4% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 13 candidates in the fray from Amroha constituency. Amroha was one of 47 seats won by the Samajwadi Party. Samajwadi Party's Mehboob Ali won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Naushad Ali by a margin of 15,042 votes.
The top three candidates split 89.8% of votes between them. Samajwadi Party's Mehboob Ali got a total of 74,713 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Naushad Ali secured 59,671 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Dr. Kunwar Sain Saini grabbed the third spot with 45,420 votes. The top three parties got 37.3%, 29.8% and 22.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Mehboob Ali outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Ram Singh by 21,805 votes.
