In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,61,344 registered voters for Anupshahr assembly seat, out of which 1,95,373 were male and 1,65,971 were female voters. 0.5% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Anupshahr constituency had 11 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 312 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Anupshahr was one of them. The election for Anupshahr seat was comfortably won by Bharatiya Janata Party's Sanjay defeating Bahujan Samaj Party's Gajendra Singh by a huge margin of 60,314 votes.
93.4% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sanjay grabbed a total of 1,12,431 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Gajendra Singh got 52,117 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Syed Himayat Ali bagged 48,610 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 49.3%, 22.8% and 21.3% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Gajendra Singh defeated Samajwadi Party's Syed Himayat Ali by 3,501 votes.
