Atrauli comes under the Aligarh district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Atrauli voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 10 and the result was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Atrauli assembly seat had 3,82,518 registered voters. Of the, 2,06,590 were male and 1,75,928 were female voters. 0.3% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In 2017, 14 candidates were competing for Atrauli assembly constituency seat. Atrauli was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Sandeep Kumar Singh comfortably winning the election defeating Samajwadi Party's Viresh Yadav by a huge margin of 50,967 votes.
97.2% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sandeep Kumar Singh grabbed a total of 1,15,397 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Viresh Yadav got 64,430 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Iliyas Chaudhary bagged 45,041 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 49.9%, 27.9% and 19.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Viresh Yadav defeated Jan Kranti Party(Rashtrawadi)'s Premlata Devi by 8,867 votes.
