Aurai is the assembly constituency which comes under the S.R.Nagar(Bhadohi) district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Aurai will be held on March 7 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,49,021 registered voters for Aurai assembly seat, out of which 1,92,702 were male and 1,56,319 were female voters. 0.7% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In 2017, 10 candidates were contesting for Aurai assembly constituency seat. Aurai was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dinanath Bhaskar won the election by defeating Samajwadi Party's Madhubala Pasi by a margin of 19,779 votes.
96.3% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dinanath Bhaskar grabbed a total of 83,325 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Madhubala Pasi got 63,546 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Baijnath Gautam bagged 49,059 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 40.9%, 31.2% and 24.1% respectively.
