Baberu is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Banda district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Baberu was held on February 23 and the results was declared on March 10.

95.5% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Chandrapal Kushwaha grabbed a total of 76,187 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Kiran Yadav got 53,886 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Bishambhar Singh bagged 51,693 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 40.0%, 28.3% and 27.2% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Vishambhar Singh defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Brij Mohan Singh by 1,148 votes.
