Samajwadi Party's candidate Bishambhar Singh bagged 51,693 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 40.0%, 28.3% and 27.2% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Vishambhar Singh defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Brij Mohan Singh by 1,148 votes.
