Badaun is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Budaun district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Badaun was held on February 14 and the results was declared on March 10.
Badaun assembly constituency had 3,53,529 electors in 2017, out of which 1,93,060 were male voters and 1,60,469 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 14 candidates in the fray from Badaun constituency. Badaun was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Mahesh Chandra Gupta won the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Abid Raza Khan by a margin of 16,467 votes.
The top three candidates split 90.3% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Mahesh Chandra Gupta got a total of 87,314 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Abid Raza Khan secured 70,847 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Bhupendra Singh grabbed the third spot with 32,641 votes. The top three parties got 41.3%, 33.5% and 15.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Abid Raza Khan defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Mahesh Chandra Gupta by 15,413 votes.
