Bharatiya Janata Party's Rani Pakshalika Singh grabbed a total of 80,567 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Madhusudan Sharma got 57,427 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Hanskali Alias Anshu Rani Nishad bagged 46,885 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 42.3%, 30.1% and 24.6% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Raja Mahendra Aridaman Singh defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Madhusudan Sharma by 26,471 votes.
