Bairia is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Ballia district. People of Bairia voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.
Bairia assembly constituency had 3,42,424 electors in 2017, out of which 1,89,410 were male voters and 1,53,014 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.2% votes.
In 2017, 17 candidates were contesting for Bairia assembly constituency seat. Bairia was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Surendra won the election by defeating Samajwadi Party's Jay Prakash Anchal by a margin of 17,077 votes.
87.2% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Surendra grabbed a total of 64,868 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Jay Prakash Anchal got 47,791 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Javahar bagged 27,974 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 40.2%, 29.6% and 17.3% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Jai Prakash Anchal outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Bharat by 558 votes.
