The top three candidates split 95.4% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Avinash Trivedi got a total of 96,482 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Nakul Dubey secured 78,898 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Gomti Yadav grabbed the third spot with 74,995 votes. The top three parties got 36.8%, 30.1% and 28.6% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Gomti Yadav defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Nakul Dubey by 1,899 votes.
