Balamau is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Hardoi district. People of Balamau voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 23 and the result was declared on March 10.
Balamau assembly constituency had 3,47,436 electors in 2017, out of which 1,90,523 were male voters and 1,56,913 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In 2017, 14 candidates were contesting for Balamau assembly constituency seat. Balamau was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ram Pal Verma won the election by defeating Bahujan Samaj Party's Neelu Satyarthi by a margin of 22,888 votes.
91.6% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ram Pal Verma grabbed a total of 74,917 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Neelu Satyarthi got 52,029 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Sushila Saroj bagged 43,507 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 40.3%, 28.0% and 23.4% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Anil Verma beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Rampal Verma by 173 votes.
