Baldev comes under the Mathura district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Baldev voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 10 and the results was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Baldev assembly seat had 3,47,589 registered voters. Of the, 1,88,904 were male and 1,58,685 were female voters. 0.5% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 11 candidates in the fray from Baldev constituency. Baldev was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Pooran Prakash won the election upstaging Rashtriya Lok Dal's Niranjan Singh Dhangar by a margin of 13,208 votes.
94.3% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Pooran Prakash grabbed a total of 88,411 votes, while Rashtriya Lok Dal's Niranjan Singh Dhangar got 75,203 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Premchand bagged 53,539 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 38.4%, 32.7% and 23.3% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Rashtriya Lok Dal's Pooran Prakash outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Chandrabhan Singh by 32,094 votes.
