The top three candidates split 86.0% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Ajai Kumar got a total of 79,209 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Ajay secured 45,156 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Ashok Kumar Gautam grabbed the third spot with 37,052 votes. The top three parties got 42.2%, 24.1% and 19.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Dr.Ajay Kumar defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Bholanath Chaudhary by 3,756 votes.
