In 2017, the Barauli assembly seat had 3,56,707 registered voters. Of the, 1,90,496 were male and 1,66,211 were female voters. 0.4% of votes were casted for NOTA.

Bharatiya Janata Party's Shri Dalveer Singh got a total of 1,25,545 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Thakur Jaivir Singh secured 86,782 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Shri Keshav Singh secured 17,238 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 53.7%, 37.1% and 7.4% respectively.
