Bareilly comes under the Bareilly district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Bareilly voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
Bareilly assembly constituency had 4,16,242 electors in 2017, out of which 2,29,212 were male voters and 1,87,030 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.3% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 12 candidates in the fray from Bareilly constituency. Bareilly was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Arun Kumar won the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Prem Prakash Agarwal by a margin of 28,667 votes.
The top two candidates split 90.5% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Arun Kumar got a total of 1,15,010 votes, while Indian National Congress's Prem Prakash Agarwal secured 86,343 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Er. Anees Ahamad Khan secured 14,588 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 51.7%, 38.8% and 6.6% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Arun Kumar beat Samajwadi Party's Dr. Anil Sharma by 27,062 votes.
