Barkhera is the assembly constituency which comes under the Pilibhit district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Barkhera will be held on February 23 and the result was declared on March 10.
Barkhera assembly constituency had 3,03,696 electors in 2017, out of which 1,63,974 were male voters and 1,39,722 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.8% votes.
In 2017, 13 candidates were competing for Barkhera assembly constituency seat. Barkhera was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Kishan Lal Rajpoot comfortably winning the election defeating Samajwadi Party's Hemraj Verma by a huge margin of 57,930 votes.
The top three candidates split 85.9% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Kishan Lal Rajpoot got a total of 1,04,595 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Hemraj Verma secured 46,665 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Dr. Shailendra Singh Gangwar grabbed the third spot with 28,674 votes. The top three parties got 49.9%, 22.3% and 13.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Hemraj Verma outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Jaidrath Alias Prawaktanand by 30,374 votes.
