Uttar Pradesh Election: Bhagwantnagar Assembly Constituency 2022

Bhagwantnagar comes under the Unnao district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Bhagwantnagar voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 23 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Bhagwantnagar assembly seat had 4,09,675 registered voters. Of the, 2,21,546 were male and 1,88,129 were female voters. 0.7% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In 2017, 12 candidates were competing for Bhagwantnagar assembly constituency seat. Bhagwantnagar was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Hriday Narayan Dikshit comfortably winning the election defeating Bahujan Samaj Party's Shashank Shekhar Singh by a huge margin of 53,366 votes.

87.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Hriday Narayan Dikshit grabbed a total of 1,03,698 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Shashank Shekhar Singh got 50,332 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Ankit Parihar bagged 49,605 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 44.8%, 21.7% and 21.4% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Kuldeep Singh Sengar outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Poonam Shukla by 23,829 votes.
