Uttar Pradesh Election: Bhognipur Assembly Constituency 2022
Bhognipur is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Kanpur Dehat district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Bhognipur was held on February 20 and the result was declared on March 10.
Bhognipur assembly constituency had 3,33,033 electors in 2017, out of which 1,78,792 were male voters and 1,54,241 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 15 candidates in the fray from Bhognipur constituency. Bhognipur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Vinod Kumar Katiyar won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Dharmpal Singh Bhadauria by a margin of 19,005 votes.
The top three candidates split 81.5% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Vinod Kumar Katiyar got a total of 71,466 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Dharmpal Singh Bhadauria secured 52,461 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Yogendra Pal Singh grabbed the third spot with 48,181 votes. The top three parties got 33.9%, 24.9% and 22.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Yogendra Pal Singh outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Dharm Pal Singh Bhadauriya by 4,653 votes.
