Bharatiya Janata Party's Nagendra Singh Rathore won the election by upstaging Samajwadi Party's Arshad Jamal Siddiqui by a margin of 34,877 votes.
95.1% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Nagendra Singh Rathore grabbed a total of 93,673 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Arshad Jamal Siddiqui got 58,796 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Nitin Singh Jaimini Rajput bagged 25,838 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 50.0%, 31.4% and 13.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Jamaluddin Siddiqui defeated Jan Kranti Party(Rashtrawadi)'s Mukesh Rajput by 18,629 votes.
