Bhongaon is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Mainpuri district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Bhongaon was held on February 20 and the result was declared on March 10.
Bhongaon assembly constituency had 3,31,035 electors in 2017, out of which 1,77,610 were male voters and 1,53,425 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Bhongaon constituency had 10 candidates for assembly seat contention. Bhongaon was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ram Naresh Agnihotri won the election by upstaging Samajwadi Party's Alok Kumar by a margin of 20,297 votes.
98.3% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ram Naresh Agnihotri grabbed a total of 92,697 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Alok Kumar got 72,400 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Surendra Singh bagged 26,041 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 47.7%, 37.2% and 13.4% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Alok Kumar beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Ashish Singh Alias Rahul Rathor by 30,892 votes.
