Bikapur comes under the Faizabad district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Bikapur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 27 and the results was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Bikapur assembly seat had 3,61,301 registered voters. Of the, 1,93,384 were male and 1,67,917 were female voters. 0.6% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Bikapur constituency had 10 candidates for assembly seat contention. Bikapur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Shobha Singh Chauhan won the election by upstaging Samajwadi Party's Anand Sen by a margin of 26,652 votes.
The top three candidates split 95.7% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Shobha Singh Chauhan got a total of 94,074 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Anand Sen secured 67,422 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Jitendra Singh grabbed the third spot with 49,690 votes. The top three parties got 42.6%, 30.6% and 22.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Mitrasen Yadav beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Firoz Khan Urf Gabbar by 1,868 votes.
