Bilhaur comes under the Kanpur Nagar district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Bilhaur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the results was declared on March 10.

The top three candidates split 97.8% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Bhagwati Prasad Sagar got a total of 1,02,326 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Kamlesh Chandra Diwakar secured 71,160 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Shiv Kumar Beriya grabbed the third spot with 60,023 votes. The top three parties got 42.9%, 29.8% and 25.1% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Arun Kumari Kori defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Kamlesh Chandra Diwakar by 16,057 votes.
