Uttar Pradesh Election: Chail Assembly Constituency 2022
Chail is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Kaushambi district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Chail will be held on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.
Chail assembly constituency had 3,65,336 electors in 2017, out of which 1,96,047 were male voters and 1,69,289 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Chail constituency had 19 candidates for assembly seat contention. Chail was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sanjay Kumar won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Talat Azim by a margin of 40,116 votes.
The top three candidates split 86.7% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sanjay Kumar got a total of 85,713 votes, while Indian National Congress's Talat Azim secured 45,597 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Mohd Asif Jafri grabbed the third spot with 43,776 votes. The top three parties got 42.4%, 22.6% and 21.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Mohd Ashif Jafri beat Samajwadi Party's Chandra Bali by 1,290 votes.
