Uttar Pradesh Election: Chamraua Assembly Constituency 2022

Chamraua is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Rampur district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Chamraua was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

Chamraua assembly constituency had 2,99,103 electors in 2017, out of which 1,61,978 were male voters and 1,37,125 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 6 candidates in the fray from Chamraua constituency. Chamraua was one of 47 seats won by the Samajwadi Party. Samajwadi Party's Naseer Ahmad Khan won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Ali Yusuf Ali by a margin of 34,376 votes.

The top three candidates split 99.1% of votes between them. Samajwadi Party's Naseer Ahmad Khan got a total of 87,400 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Ali Yusuf Ali secured 53,024 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Mohan Kumar Lodhi grabbed the third spot with 50,954 votes. The top three parties got 45.2%, 27.4% and 26.4% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Ali Yusuf Ali beat Samajwadi Party's Naseer Ahmad Khan by 1,846 votes.
