Chandpur is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Bijnor district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Chandpur was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
Chandpur assembly constituency had 3,12,795 electors in 2017, out of which 1,67,480 were male voters and 1,45,315 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.3% votes.
In 2017, 11 candidates were contesting for Chandpur assembly constituency seat. Chandpur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Kamlesh Saini won the election by defeating Bahujan Samaj Party's Mohammad Iqbal by a margin of 35,649 votes.
The top three candidates split 85.3% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Kamlesh Saini got a total of 92,345 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Mohammad Iqbal secured 56,696 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Mo. Arshad grabbed the third spot with 36,531 votes. The top three parties got 42.4%, 26.1% and 16.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Iqbal outperformed Samajwadi Party's Shairbaz Khan by 15,013 votes.
