Samajwadi Party's candidate Mo. Arshad grabbed the third spot with 36,531 votes. The top three parties got 42.4%, 26.1% and 16.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Iqbal outperformed Samajwadi Party's Shairbaz Khan by 15,013 votes.
