Chauri-Chaura comes under the Gorakhpur district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Chauri-Chaura voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.
Chauri-Chaura assembly constituency had 3,39,828 electors in 2017, out of which 1,89,445 were male voters and 1,50,383 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.3% votes.
In 2017, 20 candidates were competing for Chauri-Chaura assembly constituency seat. Chauri-Chaura was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Sangeeta Yadav comfortably winning the election defeating Samajwadi Party's Manurojan Yadav by a huge margin of 45,660 votes.
The top three candidates split 87.0% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sangeeta Yadav got a total of 87,863 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Manurojan Yadav secured 42,203 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Jai Prakash grabbed the third spot with 37,478 votes. The top three parties got 45.6%, 21.9% and 19.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Jay Prakash defeated Samajwadi Party's Anoop Kumar Pandey by 20,601 votes.
