Samajwadi Party's candidate Bhai Lal bagged 37,108 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 50.6%, 20.6% and 17.6% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Bhai Lal Kol defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Shashi Bhushan by 10,294 votes.
