94.0% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Laxmi Narayan grabbed a total of 1,17,537 votes, while independent candidate Atul Singh got 53,699 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Manoj Pathak bagged 41,290 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 52.0%, 23.8% and 18.3% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Rashtriya Lok Dal's Tejpal Singh outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Laxminarayan by 14,594 votes.
