Uttar Pradesh Election: Chitrakoot Assembly Constituency 2022

Chitrakoot is the assembly constituency which comes under the Chitrakoot district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Chitrakoot will be held on February 27 and the result was declared on March 10.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,56,623 registered voters for Chitrakoot assembly seat, out of which 1,93,341 were male and 1,63,282 were female voters. 1.0% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Chitrakoot constituency had 12 candidates for assembly seat contention. Chitrakoot was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Chandrika Prasad Upadhyay won the election by upstaging Samajwadi Party's Veer Singh by a margin of 26,936 votes.

The top three candidates split 92.6% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Chandrika Prasad Upadhyay got a total of 90,366 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Veer Singh secured 63,430 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Jagdish Prasad Gautam grabbed the third spot with 47,780 votes. The top three parties got 41.5%, 29.1% and 22.0% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Veer Singh defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Ram Sevak by 16,136 votes.
