Deoband is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Saharanpur district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Deoband was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
Deoband assembly constituency had 3,27,553 electors in 2017, out of which 1,77,796 were male voters and 1,49,757 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.2% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 8 candidates in the fray from Deoband constituency. Deoband was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Brijesh won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Majid Ali by a margin of 29,400 votes.
98.7% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Brijesh grabbed a total of 1,02,244 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Majid Ali got 72,844 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Mavia Ali bagged 55,385 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 43.8%, 31.2% and 23.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Rajendra Singh Rana beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Manoj Chaudhary by 3,050 votes.
