Deoria is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Deoria district. People of Deoria voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 3 and the results was declared on March 10.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,24,195 registered voters for Deoria assembly seat, out of which 1,78,645 were male and 1,45,550 were female voters. 0.4% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Deoria constituency had 15 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 312 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Deoria was one of them. The election for Deoria seat was comfortably won by Bharatiya Janata Party's Janmejai Singh defeating Samajwadi Party's J.P. Jaiswal by a huge margin of 46,236 votes.
The top three candidates split 87.5% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Janmejai Singh got a total of 88,030 votes, while Samajwadi Party's J.P. Jaiswal secured 41,794 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Abhay Nath Tripathi grabbed the third spot with 29,218 votes. The top three parties got 48.4%, 23.0% and 16.1% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Janmejai Singh beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Pramod Singh by 23,295 votes.
