Uttar Pradesh Election: Dhaurahra Assembly Constituency 2022

Dhaurahra is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Kheri district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Dhaurahra will be held on February 23 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Dhaurahra assembly seat had 3,21,696 registered voters. Of the, 1,74,388 were male and 1,47,308 were female voters. 1.0% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 8 candidates in the fray from Dhaurahra constituency. Dhaurahra was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Awasthi Bala Prasad winning the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Yeshpal Singh Chaudhari by a margin of just 3,353 votes.

The top three candidates split 96.8% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Awasthi Bala Prasad got a total of 79,809 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Yeshpal Singh Chaudhari secured 76,456 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Shamsher Bahadur grabbed the third spot with 54,723 votes. The top three parties got 36.6%, 35.1% and 25.1% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Shamsher Bahadur Alias Sheroobhaiya outperformed Samajwadi Party's Yashpal Chowdhary by 1,045 votes.
