Etah comes under the Etah district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Etah voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 20 and the result was declared on March 10.
Etah assembly constituency had 3,17,242 electors in 2017, out of which 1,72,078 were male voters and 1,45,164 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.4% votes.
In 2017, 13 candidates were contesting for Etah assembly constituency seat. Etah was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Vipin Kumar David won the election by defeating Samajwadi Party's Jugendra Singh Yadav by a margin of 21,129 votes.
The top three candidates split 92.7% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Vipin Kumar David got a total of 82,516 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Jugendra Singh Yadav secured 61,387 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Gajendra Singh Chauhan Urf Babloo grabbed the third spot with 41,937 votes. The top three parties got 41.2%, 30.6% and 20.9% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Ashish Kumar Yadav outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Gajendra Singh Babloo by 3,244 votes.
