Etawah is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Etawah district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Etawah was held on February 20 and the results was declared on March 10.

In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Etawah constituency had 21 candidates for assembly seat contention. Etawah was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sarita Bhadauriya won the election by upstaging Samajwadi Party's Kuldeep Gupta 'santu' by a margin of 17,342 votes.
The top three candidates split 94.7% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sarita Bhadauriya got a total of 91,234 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Kuldeep Gupta 'santu' secured 73,892 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Narendra Nath Chaturvedi Urf Ballu Choudhri grabbed the third spot with 43,577 votes. The top three parties got 41.4%, 33.5% and 19.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Raghuraj Singh Shakya defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Mahendra Singh Rajpoot by 6,264 votes.
