Rashtriya Lok Dal's candidate Brijesh Kumar Chahar bagged 38,307 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 47.7%, 24.7% and 16.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Surajpal Singh beat independent candidate Rajkumar Chahar by 5,623 votes.
