Bharatiya Janata Party's Kamal Singh Malik grabbed a total of 91,086 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Prashant Chaudhary got 55,792 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Madan Chauhan bagged 48,810 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 41.2%, 25.2% and 22.1% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Madan Chauhan beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Farhat Hasan by 18,199 votes.
