Uttar Pradesh Election: Ghorawal Assembly Constituency 2022

Ghorawal comes under the Sonbhadra district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Ghorawal voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 7 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Ghorawal assembly seat had 3,66,156 registered voters. Of the, 1,97,185 were male and 1,68,971 were female voters. 1.4% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 13 candidates in the fray from Ghorawal constituency. Ghorawal was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Anil Kumar Maurya comfortably winning the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Ramesh Chandra Dubey by a huge margin of 57,649 votes.

The top three candidates split 95.8% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Anil Kumar Maurya got a total of 1,14,305 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Ramesh Chandra Dubey secured 56,656 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Beena Singh grabbed the third spot with 53,090 votes. The top three parties got 48.9%, 24.2% and 22.7% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Ramesh Chandra outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Anil Kumar Maurya by 15,187 votes.
