Ghosi comes under the Mau district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Ghosi voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 7 and the results was declared on March 10.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 4,10,322 registered voters for Ghosi assembly seat, out of which 2,23,910 were male and 1,86,412 were female voters. 0.4% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In 2017, 15 candidates were contesting for Ghosi assembly constituency seat. Ghosi was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Fagu Chauhan winning the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Abbas Ansari by a margin of just 7,003 votes.
95.3% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Fagu Chauhan grabbed a total of 88,298 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Abbas Ansari got 81,295 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Sudhakar bagged 59,256 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 36.8%, 33.9% and 24.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Sudhakar beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Fagu Chauhan by 15,544 votes.
