Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Brij Swaroop Kanaujia bagged 51,542 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 49.4%, 27.2% and 20.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Vinay Tiwari outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Simmi Bano by 19,329 votes.
