Gonda is the assembly constituency which comes under the Gonda district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Gonda was held on February 27 and the results was declared on March 10.
In 2017, the Gonda assembly seat had 3,42,294 registered voters. Of the, 1,84,330 were male and 1,57,964 were female voters. 0.5% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Gonda constituency had 14 candidates for assembly seat contention. Gonda was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Prateek Bhushan Singh won the election by upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Mo. Jaleel Khan by a margin of 11,678 votes.
76.2% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Prateek Bhushan Singh grabbed a total of 58,254 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Mo. Jaleel Khan got 46,576 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Suraj Singh bagged 41,477 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 30.3%, 24.3% and 21.6% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Vinod Kumar Urf Pandit Singh defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Mahesh Narayan Tiwari by 14,855 votes.
