It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agrawal comfortably winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Rana Rahul Singh by a huge margin of 60,730 votes.
The top three candidates split 95.4% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agrawal got a total of 1,22,221 votes, while Indian National Congress's Rana Rahul Singh secured 61,491 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Janardan Choudhari grabbed the third spot with 24,297 votes. The top three parties got 56.1%, 28.2% and 11.1% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Dr Radha Mohan Das Agarwal outperformed Samajwadi Party's Raj Kumari Devi by 47,454 votes.
