Goverdhan is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Mathura district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Goverdhan was held on February 10 and the result was declared on March 10.
Goverdhan assembly constituency had 3,11,382 electors in 2017, out of which 1,70,500 were male voters and 1,40,882 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.
In 2017, 12 candidates were contesting for Goverdhan assembly constituency seat. Goverdhan was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Karinda Singh won the election by defeating Bahujan Samaj Party's Raj Kumar Rawat by a margin of 33,009 votes.
94.8% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Karinda Singh grabbed a total of 93,538 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Raj Kumar Rawat got 60,529 votes. Rashtriya Lok Dal's candidate Kr. Narendra Singh bagged 40,999 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 45.5%, 29.4% and 19.9% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Rajkumar Rawat outperformed Rashtriya Lok Dal's Megh Shyam Singh by 21,495 votes.
