Uttar Pradesh Election: Gunnaur Assembly Constituency 2022

Gunnaur is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Budaun district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Gunnaur was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

In 2017, the Gunnaur assembly seat had 3,72,493 registered voters. Of the, 2,04,552 were male and 1,67,941 were female voters. 0.7% of votes were casted for NOTA.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 9 candidates in the fray from Gunnaur constituency. Gunnaur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ajeet Kumar Urf Raju Yadav won the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Ram Khiladi Singh by a margin of 11,386 votes.

90.3% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ajeet Kumar Urf Raju Yadav got a total of 1,07,344 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Ram Khiladi Singh got 95,958 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Mohammad Islam Khan grabbed 16,052 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 47.7%, 42.6% and 7.1% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Ramkhiladi Singh Yadav defeated Indian National Congress's Ajit Kumar Urf Raju Yadav by 46,658 votes.
