Bharatiya Janata Party's Ashok Kumar Singh Chandel got a total of 1,10,888 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Dr. Manoj Kumar Prajapati secured 62,233 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Sanjeev Kumar Urf Sanjay Dixit grabbed the third spot with 60,543 votes. The top three parties got 44.5%, 25.0% and 24.3% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Fateh Mohammad Khan by 7,824 votes.
