Uttar Pradesh Election: Harchandpur Assembly Constituency 2022

Harchandpur comes under the Rae Bareli district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Harchandpur voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on February 23 and the results was declared on March 10.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,03,804 registered voters for Harchandpur assembly seat, out of which 1,61,318 were male and 1,42,486 were female voters. 0.8% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In 2017, 14 candidates were contesting for Harchandpur assembly constituency seat. Harchandpur was one of 7 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a close contest with Indian National Congress's Rakesh Singh winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Kanchan Lodhi by a margin of just 3,652 votes.

The top three candidates split 93.7% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Rakesh Singh got a total of 65,104 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Kanchan Lodhi secured 61,452 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Manish Kumar Singh grabbed the third spot with 45,057 votes. The top three parties got 35.6%, 33.6% and 24.6% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Surendra Vikram Singh outperformed Indian National Congress's Shiv Ganesh Lodhi by 14,193 votes.
