Harraiya comes under the Basti district and it is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Harraiya voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 3 and the results was declared on March 10.
Harraiya assembly constituency had 3,68,885 electors in 2017, out of which 1,98,358 were male voters and 1,70,527 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 14 candidates in the fray from Harraiya constituency. Harraiya was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ajay Kumar Singh ''ajay Singh'' won the election upstaging Samajwadi Party's Rajkishor Singh by a margin of 30,106 votes.
95.9% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ajay Kumar Singh ''ajay Singh'' grabbed a total of 97,014 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Rajkishor Singh got 66,908 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Vipin Kumar Shukla bagged 39,749 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 45.7%, 31.5% and 18.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Rajkishor Singh beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Mamata Pandey by 20,286 votes.
