Hasanpur is the assembly constituency which comes under the Jyotiba Phule Nagar district. It is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Hasanpur was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
Hasanpur assembly constituency had 3,42,728 electors in 2017, out of which 1,81,849 were male voters and 1,60,879 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.5% votes.
In 2017, 10 candidates were contesting for Hasanpur assembly constituency seat. Hasanpur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Mahendra Singh Khargvanshi won the election by defeating Samajwadi Party's Kamal Akhtar by a margin of 27,770 votes.
The top three candidates split 97.4% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Mahendra Singh Khargvanshi got a total of 1,11,269 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Kamal Akhtar secured 83,499 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Gangasaran Khadgvansi grabbed the third spot with 51,930 votes. The top three parties got 43.9%, 33.0% and 20.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Kamal Akhtar defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Ganga Saran by 32,228 votes.
