Samajwadi Party's candidate Prabhudayal Balmiki bagged 48,979 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 45.1%, 28.8% and 22.2% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Prabhu Dayal Balmiki beat Peace Party's Yogesh Verma by 6,641 votes.
