Uttar Pradesh Election: Hastinapur Assembly Constituency 2022

Hastinapur is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Meerut district. Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 for Hastinapur was held on February 10 and the result was declared on March 10.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2017, there were 3,26,695 registered voters for Hastinapur assembly seat, out of which 1,81,762 were male and 1,44,933 were female voters. 0.3% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election, there were 6 candidates in the fray from Hastinapur constituency. Hastinapur was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dinesh Khatik won the election upstaging Bahujan Samaj Party's Yogesh Verma by a margin of 36,062 votes.

96.1% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Dinesh Khatik grabbed a total of 99,436 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Yogesh Verma got 63,374 votes. Samajwadi Party's candidate Prabhudayal Balmiki bagged 48,979 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 45.1%, 28.8% and 22.2% respectively.

In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Prabhu Dayal Balmiki beat Peace Party's Yogesh Verma by 6,641 votes.
