Hata is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Kushinagar district. People of Hata voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 3 and the result was declared on March 10.
Hata assembly constituency had 3,52,906 electors in 2017, out of which 1,92,231 were male voters and 1,60,675 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In 2017, 12 candidates were competing for Hata assembly constituency seat. Hata was one of 312 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Pawan Kumar comfortably winning the election defeating Samajwadi Party's Radheshyam Singh by a huge margin of 53,076 votes.
The top three candidates split 95.6% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Pawan Kumar got a total of 1,03,864 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Radheshyam Singh secured 50,788 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Virendra grabbed the third spot with 42,651 votes. The top three parties got 50.3%, 24.6% and 20.7% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Radheshyam outperformed Bahujan Samaj Party's Virendra by 16,668 votes.
