94.5% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Hari Shankar Mahor grabbed a total of 1,33,840 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Braj Mohan Rahi got 63,179 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Rajesh Raj Jeevan bagged 27,301 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 56.4%, 26.6% and 11.5% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Genda Lal Chaudhary defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajesh Kumar by 8,673 votes.
