Jakhanian is one of the 403 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Ghazipur district. People of Jakhanian voted for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 on March 7 and the result was declared on March 10.

The top three candidates split 96.5% of votes between them. Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party's Triveni Ram got a total of 84,158 votes, while Samajwadi Party's Gareeb secured 79,001 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Sanjiv Kumar grabbed the third spot with 67,077 votes. The top three parties got 35.3%, 33.1% and 28.1% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Samajwadi Party's Subba Ram beat Bahujan Samaj Party's Vijay Kumar by 15,230 votes.
